Who Wears a Cape?

There is one question I am constantly asking those around me:"Would you still be friends with me if I wear [insert ridiculous fashion trend here]?"

Example:

"Would you still be friends with me if I wear bellbottoms?"
"Would you still be friends with me if I wear suspenders?"
"Would you still be friends with me if I wear denim floral hotpants?"

I own all these items, by the way.

Here is a real excerpt from a gchat convo yesterday with my friend Debie. Just to illustrate my point:

3:23 PM me: i went to zara yesterday
and i loved all the fall stuff...
would you still be friends with me if i wore a cape
3:24 PM Debie: they are in this season...
i could accept a capelet
me: i tried one on
i couldn't tell if it looked cool or homeless
Debie: that's a question you should never have to ask yourself

Ed. Note: I removed all the "hahaha"s from the conversation in order to improve readability.

Fist Bump

I would say a fist is one of the lesser photocopied body parts. But my coworker Amy chose to do just that:

Here is her goodbye gift to a fellow in our office who is partial to fist bumps as greetings. Even though Amy is moving to NYC this week, her knuckles will stay in D.C. for all eternity.

We'll take what we can get. Not only is Amy super creative, she's the one of the few people in the world who would go see the Joan Rivers documentary in the theatre with me. That's saying a lot.

Hyper realistic wax Joan Rivers mannequin on display at the theatre by the concession stand, borrowed from Madame Tussauds next door. Or perhaps it actually was Joan herself.

Webster's

I really want to coin a word or phrase, and if I can't make the OED, I am at least aiming for Urban Dictionary. So, drumroll please, here is a new term I made up that going to be so popular with the kids:

Main Entry: Whoa·M·G
Pronunciation: \whoa-ˈem-gee\
Function: exclamation
Etymology: IM speak, circa AOL
Date: 2010

1 a : Expression of shock, used when a simple "OMG" just won't get the job done.

ETA: Tori informs me that this is already in Urban Dictionary. Shoot! I swear I did not know, nor did I take the time to research this. Thanks for letting me know that my ideas are already in existence!
